At Crossfence Development, we combine capital, experience, and land to lay the groundwork for residential neighborhoods across Texas. We clear land, design the layout of developments, divide lots, install streets, electric, and water—everything homebuilders need to bring a neighborhood to life.
Founded in 2018, we’ve cleared and prepared thousands of acres and hundreds of lots, primarily southwest of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
A Bit About Us
The Crossfence wing of Covey Co. started like many of our endeavors do: by finding a great partner. We connected with dirt work expert Josh Trees, collaborated on a few projects, and built a relationship of lasting value.
Josh Trees - Partner
Based in Waxahachie, TX, Josh has been excavating ever since he watched the dirt work being done on his own home construction and thought, “I could do that.” He bought a digger, finished the job himself, and one machine quickly turned into three. The rest is history.
With his integrity and hands-on expertise, Josh is the man who reshapes the landscape and makes it ready for homebuilders to do their thing.

Covey Co. is the treasure trove of lived experience built from creating a multigenerational, nationwide business—Corsicana Bedding—from the ground up. We’ve turned that experience into a wide-ranging ecosystem of companies, investment vehicles, and philanthropic ventures that help leaders define success and empower them to pursue it. Crossfence is our property development arm.
